LCS Event Coordinator

Position: LCS Event Coordinator

Classification: Part - Time Hourly (up to 29 hours)

Reports To: Director of Dining Services and Events

 

About Us:

Lenawee Christian Ministries provides a Christ-centered education, spiritual development, and wellness services to the Lenawee County community, centered around Jesus Christ. 

 

Position Summary:

Brings the vision of the LCS Administrative team to life through various events that celebrate and support Lenawee Christian School and its students, families, staff, alumni, donors, etc. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • 29 hours per week averaged throughout the calendar year. Under certain circumstances hours worked may be between up to 40 hours per week.

  • Reports to the Director of Dining Services and Events but works closely with the LCS Head of School, LCS Principals or other LCS staff as assigned. 

  • Final discretion on which events are assigned to the LCS Event Coordinator will be determined by the Director of Dining Services and the LCS Head of School and may change without notice.

  • Reflects Jesus Christ above all else, and champions the LCS mission statement.

  • Adheres to all décor and quality standards to achieve a visual thematic continuity across specific types of events (spirit, formal, casual, etc.).

  • Works within the framework of the budget for each event, creating proposals through the event booking system that are finalized and reconciled with the accounting department at the close of each month.

  • Attends any scheduled meetings of the Dining Services team to discuss weekly progress, goals, event schedules, etc.

  • Schedules and attends all necessary meetings with LCS clients to plan their events to their satisfaction, ensuring all details are covered and communicated.

  • Collaborates with and communicate to various departments in order to facilitate all aspects of the event including prep, setup, event execution, teardown, and cleanup, being on-site for each event (when possible) to coordinate in real-time.

  • Adheres to a high standard of appearance, dress, attitude, and conduct.  Dress guidelines may vary depending on the type of event.

  • Manages event supplies and storage areas.

  • May be called to assist in non-LCS events (LCM, CFC) as necessary.

  • This position will be off each year beginning the Monday of the 3rd week of June, returning on the first Monday of August.

  • Events and workspaces may be indoor or outdoor in all seasons and in various settings (loud/quiet, bright/dark, hot/cold, etc.).

 

Qualifications:

  • Christian Faith:

    • Profess and demonstrate a personal commitment to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

    • Adherence to Christian principles and values in both personal and professional life.

  • Educational Background/Experience:

    • The ability to effectively and positively communicate and collaborate with all types of people at all levels throughout the event planning phase, event execution, and after-event recap.

    • An authentic personality that brings comfort and confidence to each client and participant.

    • Displays a genuine excitement to celebrate LCS and its people through the facilitation of these events.

    • Adept at giving direction in a constructive way and training others or contributing personally in a hands-on fashion.

    • Familiarity with project management and planning.  Highly organized and detail oriented.

    • Comfortable with using a computer, tablet, and phone to access our booking software, send emails, keep notes, create documents, utilize spreadsheets, etc.

    • Ability to stand for long periods, move quickly from one area to another, lift moderate weight as related to event setup needs, climb a ladder as related to decorating needs, etc.
